How to update each of the listing tabs
To help you navigate your listing management, here is a quick overview of how to update each tab. Refer to the sections below to learn about specific fields and buttons, and how you can use them to keep your listing accurate and competitive.
Vehicle Tab
The Vehicle Tab ensures your rig matches the Guest’s technical needs and safety requirements. Think of this as your RV's technical resume—getting these details dialed in ensures your Guests feel confident behind the wheel and know exactly what to expect before they pull out of the driveway.
Note: Before you start, ensure that you click the Edit button to enter "Edit mode." Once you are finished with your updates, be sure to click the Save button to lock in your changes.
Vehicle Information Section
Getting these details dialed in—from the bumper-to-bumper length to the specific transmission type—ensures your Guests feel confident behind the wheel and know exactly what to expect before they pull out of the driveway
Type: Select the category that best describes your vehicle (e.g., Class A, Class C, Travel Trailer).
Year: The manufacturing year of your RV as listed on your title or registration.
Make: The brand or manufacturer of your RV (e.g., Airstream, Winnebago, Forest River).
Model: The specific name or number assigned to your RV series.
Trim: This specifies the sub-model or "edition," which often dictates the interior floor plan and features.
Length: Enter the total length from bumper to bumper. This is vital for Guests checking campsite size limits!
Gross vehicle weight (GVW): The maximum weight of the RV when fully loaded. This helps Guests determine if their tow vehicle is capable.
Transmission: This field only appears if the RV is drivable. Indicate here if the vehicle is Automatic or Manual.
Fuel type: This field only appears if the RV is drivable. Specify here if it runs on Gasoline, Diesel, or Electric
Slideout: Select how many sections of the RV expand outward to provide extra living space. Options include: No slide-outs, driver side, passenger side, or rear side.
Month of insurance renewal: Indicate when your primary insurance policy renews to help the platform ensure continuous coverage. You can select any month from January to December.
Towing Information Section (For Towable RVs)
These fields will only appear and are only applicable if you select a towable RV. This ensures the Guest's vehicle is properly equipped to move your rig safely.
-
Connector type: Select the radio button that matches your trailer's electrical plug
7-pin
4-pin
-
Break controller details: Confirm if you will provide a portable brake controller if the Guest doesn't have one installed in their vehicle. Select the applicable radio button:
Yes, I’ll provide (recommended): Select this if you have a unit available for Guests to use.
No, the Guest must install before departure: Select this if the Guest is responsible for their own braking system.
-
Receiver details: Confirm if you will provide the hitch receivers to match the Guest’s vehicle.
Yes (recommended): Select this if you provide the necessary hitch hardware.
No, the Guest must provide: Select this if the Guest must bring their own compatible receiver.
Pro Tip: Providing a Brake Controller and Receiver is highly recommended. It makes your listing much more "turn-key" for Guests who might have a capable truck but don't own specific towing hardware.
Tank Capacity Section
Accuracy in your Tank Capacity Section is the secret to a seamless trip. Providing precise volumes for your fresh, gray, and black water tanks ensures your Guests can manage their resources with confidence while they’re out chasing the horizon.
- Fresh water tank: Update the total gallons of potable water available for the trip.
- Gray water tank: Specify the capacity for used water from sinks and showers.
- Black water tank: Log the capacity for the waste tank.
- Fuel tank: For drivable rigs, ensure the fuel capacity is accurate.
- Propane tank: Note the size of your LP tanks for heating and cooking.
Vehicle Location Section
Guests come here to get the RV and start their trip. If you offer home, we use this as the starting point to calculate distance and fees. We also use this location for tax purposes. Enter the exact address where you keep the vehicle using the fields:
- Country
- Street Address
- Second street address (optional)
- City
- State
- Zip
Guests Section
Setting the right expectations for occupancy ensures your Guests have a comfortable stay without feeling crowded. Use this section to define exactly who your rig is built for. Use the + and - adjustment buttons to dial in your specific number of Guests that can sleep in your RV:
- Overnight Guests: Enter the maximum number of people your RV can comfortably sleep.
Sleeping Arrangements Section
Every traveler has a different setup in mind, from family bunkhouse vibes to a cozy couple's retreat. Use the + and - adjustment buttons to dial in your specific configuration:
- King bed: Indicate how many King-sized beds are in the rig.
- Queen bed: Indicate how many Queen-sized beds are available.
- Twin bed: Enter the number of individual Twin beds.
- Dinette conversion: Count how many dining tables can be folded down into a sleeping surface.
- Fold-out sofa: Count how many couches or sofas convert into beds.
- Full bed: Indicate how many Full/Double-sized beds are in the layout.
- Bunk bed: Enter the total number of individual bunk bed slots.
- Other: Use this for unique sleeping spots, like a "cab-over" loft or a pop-up tent section.
Insurance & Roadside Assistance Section
Ensure your RV remains eligible by adhering to the guidelines outlined here, which include meeting consistent safety certification standards.
Note: Coverage is applicable only during rentals processed on the Outdoorsy platform; off-platform rentals are not covered. The pricing for your Guest's insurance is determined by the actual cash value of your vehicle.
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): Enter your 17-character VIN; it may contain the numbers 1 and 0 but never the letters "i" or "o". You can find this on your insurance docs or ID cards. For drivable rigs, check the inner door panel or driver’s side windshield; for towables, look at the tongue, inner door panel, or axles.
- Country: Specify the country where your vehicle is officially registered.
License Plate: Enter the current plate number assigned to your RV.
License Plate State: Select the specific state where your RV is currently registered.
- Actual cash value: Enter the current market value of your RV. This helps determine coverage limits.
Details Tab
Head to the Details tab to edit your listing's name and description, share local trip recommendations, and provide additional "insider" information about your rig.
Note: Before you start, ensure that you click the Edit button to enter "Edit mode." Once you are finished with your updates, be sure to click the Save button to lock in your changes.
- Listing name field: You can give your RV a catchy, unique name to help it stand out in search results.
- Listing description field: Paint a picture of the adventure! Showcase unique features, comforts, and the amazing memories Guests can create in your rental.
What’s included field (optional): List everything you stock in your vehicle for free (e.g., linens, coffee maker, camp chairs).
Trip recommendation for Guests field (optional): Share your favorite local spots! Help Guests plan their adventure with your "insider" knowledge of the area.
Other things to note field (optional): Use this for any specific details that don't fit elsewhere, like unique quirks of the rig or firm reminders of your house rules.
Photos Tab
Update your RV listing photos under this tab to make a lasting first impression on your Guests. High-quality images are the #1 way to increase your bookings.
Uploading A Photo
Direct Upload: Click the Upload button to select and add photos directly from your current device.
-
Upload from Another Device: Want to move photos from your phone to your desktop listing?
Click the "Upload from another device" link.
-
Check your registered email for a secure link.
Open that link on your other device to instantly sync your photos to the gallery.
Note: Using the email link is the fastest way to get those high-res mobile shots into your listing without needing to cord-connect or cloud-sync manually.
Deleting A Photo
Need to clear out some old shots? Here is how to tidy up your gallery:
Standard Photos: Hover your mouse over the image you want to remove. Click the three dots (⋮) icon that appears and select Delete.
-
The "Hero" Photo: Your primary listing photo cannot be deleted while it is in the "Hero" slot. To remove or update it:
Drag and drop a different photo into the Hero position to replace it.
Once the old photo is moved to a standard slot, follow the standard deletion steps above.
Rearranging Your Photo Gallery
Want to change the story your gallery tells? You can reorder your photos in seconds:
Click & Drag: Simply click on any photo and drag it to its new position.
Intuitive Flow: The gallery will automatically shift other photos to accommodate the new layout based on where you drop the image.
Instant Sync: No need to look for a "Save" button—your new arrangement is saved automatically the moment you let go.
Pro Tip: Group your photos logically. Start with the best exterior shot (your Hero), followed by the main living area, the kitchen, and finally the sleeping quarters. This helps Guests "walk through" the RV in their minds!
Linking a YouTube Video
While you cannot upload video files directly to the platform, you can easily link a YouTube video to your listing. This is a fantastic way to give Guests a "live" feel of the space and functionality of your RV.
Navigate to your listing's Photos tab.
Scroll down until you see the "Add YouTube Video" section.
Paste your link: Insert your RV's YouTube URL into the input field.
Save: Click the "Add Video" button.
Pro Tip: Adding a video can showcase your RV's functionality and help build Guest trust. For best results, you can keep your video short and sweet! A 1 to 2-minute walkthrough is usually the "sweet spot" for keeping a potential Guest's attention.
Enabling Guest-Submitted Photos
You don’t have to upload these yourself. Once enabled, photos submitted by Guests through their reviews can appear on your listing:
Navigate to your listing's Photos tab.
Scroll down to the "Guest submitted photos" section.
Toggle the switch to "On" to allow these photos to be displayed publicly.
Amenities tab
You can update your RV amenities under this tab. Refer to the following categories below (e.g., Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, etc.), then tick the boxes under them.
Note: Before you start, ensure that you click the Edit button to enter "Edit mode." Once you are finished with your updates, be sure to click the Save button to lock in your changes.

Pro tip: If you set your own mileage charges, you can easily collect fees at the end of every rental. See our Help Center article Now it's easier to charge for extra miles and generator hours to learn how it works.
-
Generator
- I don’t have a generator: Select this radio button if you don't have a generator to offer
- Allow unlimited hours: Choose this if you have a generator and wish to provide unlimited usage to your Guests for a worry-free experience.
-
Set my own charges: Select this if you want to set a specific limit for free usage.
- Included hours field: Specify the number of hours Guests can use the generator per day before additional fees apply.
-
Amount for extra hours field: Set the hourly rate for usage that exceeds your daily limit.
Pro Tip: If you're allowing "boondocking" (off-grid camping) on your listing, offering a few included hours per day is a great way to make your listing more attractive while still protecting your equipment.

Delivery tab
This is where you manage how your RV gets to your Guests. Offering delivery and setup is a powerful way to boost your booking rate, as it attracts Guests who may not have a tow vehicle or the confidence to drive a large rig.
Note: Before you start, ensure that you click the Edit button to enter "Edit mode." Once you are finished with your updates, be sure to click the Save button to lock in your changes.
Vehicle usage
Decide how your Guests will interact with your RV.
-
Allow Guests to drive your vehicle: Select Yes or No.
Note: Selecting No will automatically enable the Delivery option on your listing, as the RV must be transported by you.
-
Provide delivery and set up of your vehicle: Select Yes or No.
Note: When you select Yes, the Delivery charges section will appear so you can input your specific settings.
Delivery charges
When delivery is enabled, use these fields to ensure your time and travel costs are covered.
-
Distance (one-way): Enter the maximum distance you're willing to deliver into the Maximum distance field.
Reminder: You will make two round-trips for each delivery (one to drop off and one to pick up). Set your distance limit based on how far you are willing to drive (2 round-trips).
-
Minimum delivery fee: Enter the lowest amount you are willing to accept for a delivery.
Note: The system will automatically charge the Guest whichever is higher: your minimum fee or your total per-mile fee.
-
Per mile fee (one-way): Enter your rate into the Amount per mile field.
How it works: Guests pay based on the mileage driven to drop off the RV. When setting this, consider your time and fuel for the total round-trip journey.
Pro Tip: Most successful Hosts set their "Per mile fee" high enough to cover the fuel for all four legs of the trip, or they use the "Minimum delivery fee" to ensure short-distance deliveries are still worth the time spent on setup and teardown.

This is where you elevate your Guests' experience and boost your listing by offering enticing add-ons for your listing.

Note: Before you start, ensure that you click the Edit button to enter "Edit mode." Once you are finished with your updates, be sure to click the Save button to lock in your changes.

Advance Notice: Use this dropdown to prevent short-notice bookings and ensure you have enough time to prepare. Edit it by selecting your required lead time, ranging from Same day to 7+ days in advance.

Cancellation policy: If you want to update your listing's cancellation policy or how Guests are refunded for their cancellations. This part allows you to set the specific Outdoorsy cancellation policy you want to apply to your listing:
Flexible: 100% refund (minus service fees) up to 30 days before pickup; 50% refund thereafter.
Moderate: 100% refund up to 30 days before pickup; 50% refund between 30 and 7 days; 0% refund if cancelled within 7 days of the trip.
-
Strict: 100% refund up to 30 days before pickup; 0% refund thereafter.
Note: Updating your listing's cancellation policy will only affect bookings created after the change. For more details, please visit the Outdoorsy Cancellation Policy Help Center article.
-
Listing rules: Guests often filter their search based on these four rules. Use the toggles to update your preferences:
"Bring pets": Toggle this if you welcome some furry friends.
"Take it to a festival": Toggle this if you allow Guests to take your RV to music and other festivals
"Tailgate at the big game": Enable this if you allow cooking out and gathering at sports or other major events.
"Smoke in your rig": Toggle this only if you allow Guests to smoke inside the rig.
Rule of the road (optional): Thinking of other specific "dos and don’ts"? Write your custom rules here. These will be included on the Guest’s booking receipt to ensure they are clearly understood before the trip.
