When you first list your RV on Outdoorsy, you’ll probably be asking yourself about the amenities you ought to provide your guests. After all, you’ve probably stayed at a hotel where a warm chocolate chip cookie on your pillow or a friendly note on your nightstand really made your stay.
To help you meet guest expectations and maximize your earnings, we’ve categorized amenities into three levels: Must-haves, Nice-to-haves, and Love-to-haves.
- Must-haves: Required Amenities
- Nice-to-haves: Standardized Add-ons
- Love-to-haves: Approved Custom Add-ons
P.S. Some of the best amenities to offer are the ones that make you extra money – check out this page we put together that’ll save you 10% on the most popular add-on amenities offered by our hosts.
Must-haves: Required Amenities
Remember that we have standardized required amenities for RV listings. This category then covers all the ones we consider important for a Guest to have an unforgettable Outdoorsy experience.
Refer to the following amenities you'll need on an RV listing:
-
Basic Kitchen Kit: Everything a guest needs to dine conveniently
Pots, Pans, & Utensils
Plates & Cups
-
Basic Consumables: Essentials for hygiene and cleanliness
Toilet paper & Paper towels
Cleaning supplies & Hand soap
- Clean and Sanitized Fresh Water Tank: While filling the tank with water is optional, the tank must be clean and sanitized prior to every handoff
Nice-to-haves: Standardized Add-ons
These are our "pre-approved" add-ons. They represent the most common guest requests and are a fantastic way to generate extra income. Because they are standardized, they can be added to your listing immediately. Some examples of pre-approved add-ons are:
Linen Packages: Fresh sheets, plush pillows, blankets, and bath towels for the whole crew.
Generator: Portable gas-powered units for electricity anywhere.
Solar Panel: Portable panels to recharge batteries using sunlight.
Grill / BBQ / Stove: Specialized outdoor cooking equipment.
Baby / Child Gear: High chairs, pack-and-plays, or car seats.
Outdoor Living Set: High-quality camping chairs, folding tables, and outdoor rugs to expand the living space.
Adventure Gear: Bike racks, leveled hitches, or portable generators for those going off-grid.
Pro Tip: Look into the full list of our pre-approved add-ons in the "I want to create an add-on. How do I check for its eligibility?" Help Center article to learn more about the most common add-ons guests request that can be added to your RV listing immediately.
Love-to-haves: Approved Custom Add-ons
This is where you can let your personality shine and truly "WOW" your guests. Custom add-ons are unique items or services that you choose to offer to make a trip unforgettable.
These add-ons may be focused on niche experiences, high-end convenience, or specific hobbies that aren't included in the standardized add-on list. Some examples are:
Starlink / Satellite Internet Kit: High-speed satellite internet for digital nomads or those camping in "dead zones" where standard GPS/cell service fails.
Celebration Packages: Birthday decorations, anniversary gift baskets, or anything that a Guest can use for a special occasion celebration
Mobile Spa / Wellness Kit: Includes a portable essential oil diffuser with a selection of oils, luxury bathrobes (different from standard linens), and high-end organic skincare travel sets.
Pet Pro Kits: Collapsible bowls, extra leashes, and a "pup-friendly" welcome treat.
Pro Tip: Custom add-ons undergo a quick check to ensure that they aren’t duplicating a "Standard Amenity" or a "Standard Booking Component" since our goal is to keep the RV rental marketplace organized and transparent for Guests.
