Whether you want to hit the road as a traveler or list your RV to earn extra income as a Host, Outdoorsy uses a single, unified account system. Your login credentials (email and password) work across our entire platform, giving you seamless access to both hosting and traveling features without the need to juggle multiple accounts.
Can I use one account as both a Host and a Guest?
Yes. You only need one Outdoorsy account to both rent vehicles as a Guest and list your own rigs as a Host.
You do not need to register a second email address or manage separate logins. Your single sign-on account operates across all of Outdoorsy, allowing you to switch between browsing for your next road trip and managing your RV rental business at any time.
Existing Outdoorsy Guests: Becoming a Host
If you already have an Outdoorsy account and want to list an RV of your own, you do not need to register a new profile.
To get started, click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of the Outdoorsy homepage, select "Become a Host," and follow the prompts to verify your phone number and begin your first listing.
Pro Tip: For step-by-step guidance on setting up photos, pricing, and amenities, visit our How to List Your RV on Outdoorsy Help Center article.
Accessing Outdoorsy: Website vs. Mobile Apps
How you switch between hosting and traveling (as a Guest) depends on whether you are using a web browser or our mobile applications:
On the Outdoorsy Website (Outdoorsy.com)
When logged into Outdoorsy on a desktop or mobile browser, you can seamlessly toggle between Guest and Host views using your profile menu:
-
Browsing and booking (Guest Mode):
What it looks like: You will see the main search bar on the homepage to find RVs, review trips, and message Hosts.
How to switch to Guest mode: If you are currently in Host mode, click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of the screen and select "Switch to traveling". The page will reload and switch directly into Guest mode.
-
Managing your rigs (Host Mode):
What it looks like: Your dashboard navigation displays management tabs: Home, Messages, Calendar, Bookings, Listings, Insights, and Offers.
How to switch to Host mode: If you are currently browsing as a Guest, click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of the screen and select "Switch to hosting". The page will reload and open your Host dashboard.
On the Outdoorsy Mobile Apps
While the website combines both modes into a single browser window, Outdoorsy provides two dedicated mobile apps to give you an optimized experience on your phone:
Outdoorsy (for Guests): Listed as "Outdoorsy - Rent an RV" in app stores. Use this app to search rigs, coordinate with your Host, view your booking receipt, and complete the digital walkthrough and key exchange at pickup and return.
Outdoorsy Host App: Listed as "Outdoorsy Host - Rent your RV" in app stores. Designed specifically for RV owners to manage availability, approve incoming bookings on the go, message renters, and monitor payouts.
Where can I download Outdoorsy Host and Guest apps?
Both apps are free to download on iOS and Android:
iOS (Apple App Store): Search for "Outdoorsy - Rent an RV" (for travelers) or "Outdoorsy Host - Rent your RV" (for RV owners).
Android (Google Play Store): Search for "Outdoorsy - Rent an RV" (for travelers) or "Outdoorsy Host - Rent your RV" (for RV owners).
Direct Web Link: Visit outdoorsy.com/apps from any browser to access direct download links for both apps.
Payments, Payouts, and Driver Verification
While your login and basic profile information remain shared, your financial settings and identity checks stay separate depending on your role:
Guest Payments: To pay for rental bookings and security deposits, you will keep an active payment method (credit or debit card) on file in your account settings.
Host Payouts: To receive earnings from your rentals, you will set up a dedicated Payout Preference (such as direct deposit to your bank account) and submit your required tax documents (W-9).
Driver Verification (Persona): If you are an established Host who decides to rent an RV as a Guest, you must still complete the standard Guest driver verification process before your trip starts. This verification ensures that you properly pass the official eligibility requirements and activates your booking's Protection Package.
