It’s completely free to list on Outdoorsy. In fact, you don’t pay us anything until your first booking begins.
Here’s how it works: When a Guest books a trip, they pay Outdoorsy. We then hold those funds until 48 hours after their trip starts. That’s when we release your payout to you.
A percentage of your payout goes to Outdoorsy, so we can maintain and operate a safe, high-quality platform that protects you, your vehicle, and your Guests. That includes costs related to Guest identity verification, reservation screening, other trust and safety measures, and marketing your listing to drive bookings.
This is known as your Host service fee. We automatically take it out of your payout before releasing the money to you.
The Host service fee for bookings ranges between 20% and 25% of the booking subtotal (the nightly rate plus cleaning fee, add-on fees, delivery fee and any other fees, if applicable, but excluding Outdoorsy fees and taxes). All Hosts on Outdoorsy start off with a 25% service fee. As your revenue increases, your Host fee decreases.
There is a minimum Host service fee of $15/night for driveable vehicles and $10/night for towables. If the Host service fees incurred are less than this amount per night based on the normally assessed percentage, they will be automatically adjusted up to the minimum amount per night, based on vehicle type.
How and when do I get paid?
We’ll automatically deposit your money into your bank account. It typically takes 3 – 5 business days for banks to post that cash to your account. Don’t worry, we use banking-level, secure online payments to keep everyone’s info safe.
Pro tip - Bringing new Guests to Outdoorsy will significantly lower both your Host service fee and your Guest’s service fee. When you send a brand new Guest a quote and they book your vehicle from that quote, the Host fee on that booking will drop down to 6.5% and the Guest fee to 0%. A win-win. The new Guest must not already have an Outdoorsy account associated with their email address for the Host and Guest fees to be reduced.
