What is Interior Damage Protection?
If purchased, Interior Damage Protection provides coverage for accidental damages to the RV interior while it’s parked during your trip. Guests are responsible for interior damages occurring during the booking, so the Interior Damage Protection plan can reimburse you for covered amounts withheld from your security deposit or charged to you directly by the Host. The plan provides coverage for accidental damages that can include: broken appliances and electronics, damaged interior doors, walls and furniture, stained bedding or linens, lost keys and rekeying costs.
Why should I purchase Interior Damage Protection?
While no one expects to damage a rental, accidents happen. We highly recommend purchasing Interior Damage Protection, as it can help safeguard your security deposit. Interior Damage Protection is especially recommended if you are traveling with children, pets, or in a group. It is also recommended for longer trips or if you’re spending a significant amount on a luxury RV.
When can I buy coverage?
Once you’ve booked an RV, you can purchase Interior Damage Protection on your trip details page. You can purchase it anytime, up to the day before the trip begins. Please note that this coverage is only available for purchase by U.S. residents.
Does Interior Damage Protection cover pet damage?
The plan can provide coverage for pet damage as long as the Host allows pets in the RV. Pet damage is not covered if having pets in the RV violates the rental agreement.
Does Interior Damage Protection cover intentional acts?
No, plans are unable to cover loss or damage due to criminal or intentional acts of Guests or anyone in your party.
Should I consider purchasing Interior Damage Protection?
Interior Damage Protection may be a wise choice if you are concerned about accidental damage occurring while the RV is parked during your trip. By paying a small fee, you can help protect your peace of mind. Should accidental damage occur during your stay, you go through a guided claims process to receive your refund of any covered, incurred charges.
How does the Interior Damage Protection claims process work?
If the RV interior is accidentally damaged while it’s parked during your trip, you may either notice the damage yourself or you may be notified by the Host after returning the RV. In both instances, the Guest would file a claim with International Medical Group (IMG).

How do I start an Interior Damage Protection claim?
To file a claim, please make sure you (the Guest) have:
- Pre-trip and post-trip photos taken within the Outdoorsy app
- Completed the digital key exchange process and signed the rental contract within the app
